A final year student of FUTO built a solar-powered tricycle
Ekomobong Finbarr, A final year student of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Imo State, Nigeria has developed a solar-powered tricycle.
Finbarr, was a final year student of the department of Electrical and Electronics engineering, he built the solar-powered tricycle as part of his final year project.
His brother one Aniekeme Finbarr Ukpong shared his innovation through his facebook page after Finbarr project defense.
The tricycle is said to be able to travel about 11 kilometres, when fully charged, Ukpnong via his Facebook page.
He added with much enthusiasm that the tricycle was tested by, Damian Dike, the head of the Electrical Electronics department, and Dr. Mrs. Achumba, a lecturer from that department. They were said to have being awed by that great innovation.

Those who dropped comments on the thread of the facebook post congratulated the young man and ask the government to support him by investing in his innovation.
It is said that Nigeria consumes close to 30 to 33 million litres of petrol per day, if innovation like this can be supported by stakeholders and the Nigerian government, its fuel consumption will drop drastically and petrol price will fall to the courtesy of the law of Demand and Supply.
