Opera Reaches New Milestone In Africa, Celebrates 100 Million Users

The web browser software company Opera Software announced on Wednesday 9th of November 2016 through It blog that the company has reached a milestone of 100 million users on the African Continent.

The famous Opera Mini Browser was launched in 2006 and was introduce to the African market in the same year. Without mincing words it was able to come this far because of the synergy it established with many of the mobile operators across the continent who became and remain their close partners.

A Statement quoted from the blog reinforce the above: 

"The advanced compression offered in our products enables these companies to offer a full internet experience to their subscribers for less."

 Moving forward the company said it will continue the vision of an open, connected world, powered by great technology and services. It said it is essential in order to break down barriers that limit access to information, education and fun. 

Some interesting fact about Opera mini is that it is the highest used browser in Africa,  having a 58.6%  market share and overall 25% percent for the Andriod Market share.
